Our cleaning advice of the week is how to remove a white stain from hardwood furniture. A white stain on hardwood furniture is the result of moisture being trapped under the sealcoat. Probably the most common white stain is a noticeable white ring caused from a cup, glass, or bottle with water in it, that was placed on top of the furniture.
Carefully use the following procedures to remove the stain:
-
Mix in a bowl an equal amount of toothpaste and baking soda, and add just enough white vinegar to create a paste.
-
Using a clean soft cotton rag, dip the rag into the paste and lightly rub the white stain.
-
Repeat as needed until the stain disappears.
-
Spray furniture polish and polish with a clean cotton rag.
